Confederate Ueteran association of iKcntucRp. Born in Richmond, Kentucky, December 17, 1838. Enlisted in the Army of the Confederate States, June, 1861, at Madison-ville, Texas, as a private in Company C, 5th Texas Infantry :and at the time of his death, his regiment was attached to Robinson Brigade (Hood Old Brigade). Hood's Division, Longstreet's Corps, Army of Northern Virginia. He participated in the engagements at Yorktowu, Williamsburg, Seven Pines, Gaines Mill, and wounded there, Malvern Hill, Second Manassas, Seven days before Richmond, The Maryland Campaign, South Mountain. El-tham's Landing and Sharpsburg, where he was mortally wounded, September 18, 1862, and died a few days after, and is buried at Shepherdstown, West Virginia. He was promoted from theranks to 1st Lieutenant and was in command of his company when killed. HENRY W. BOYD, MADISON VILLE, TEXAS.
