Happy and blessed Easter
to everyone!
On this Palm Sun., Apr.
1, we had 75 to SS and 136 to
worship service. We welcome
all our guests.
On Saturday afternoon
we had our Easter Egg Hunt.
There were 25 children and
lots of adults helping out. All
had a great time!
Jane Nelson played for
communion "Were You
There?" For offertory, "Christ
Arose" and "Here Comes
Peter Cottontail".
Homer Burton blessed
us by singing "The Upper
Room". Our choir did a
rendition of "Jesus Paid It
All".
Bro. Jackie's message
was "A Man Named Simon
Peter". John 13:37-38 and
Luke 22:31-34. Anyone can
fail. Failure can make us
stronger in life. Peter learned
his lesson and came back to
God and so can we.
Remember in prayer:
Mary Welch - 2 stents placed
in heart. Delmar Sharp - been
in the hospital. Sandy Blevins

were glad to have Ann
Dickson back with us. She
has been recuperating from
bypass surgery.
Sympathy goes out to the
families of Bonnie Kiskaden,
Madge Todd, Charlotte
Baker, Roy Carpenter, and
Gene Moran. Sympathy
and prayers also goes out to
Donnie Johnson & his family

Elrod's family member.

SonRise Service
and Breakfast
This Easter Sunday
morning, April 8, the
Brooksville
Christian
Church will be hosting the
Community SonRise Service
to remember that first Easter
morning when the women
found the tomb was empty.
This special celebration
of our Risen Lord, Jesus
Christ will begin at 6:30 a.m.
Included in the program is
special music by the choir
and others, a liturgical
dance, and a message by
Kevin Courtney, pastor
of the Brooksville United
Methodist Church.
Everyone is invited to
attend the program and the
free breakfast that follows.
The church's building is
located at 148 W. Miami
Street. Call 735-3123 for
more information.

PRESBYTERIAN
POTPOURRI
by Les Grooms, pastor
Augusta Presbyterian
We had 52 in attendance
for worship. Kay Grooms
was the liturgist. Susie
Hargett led the singing. Jill
Hargett did the power point.
We led off Sunday with
Bible Study. Seven were
present for the second session
of second Corinthians. Paul’s
two letters to the church at
Corinth are filled with a lot
of information and guidance
that is applicable to us today.
Sunday
was
Palm
Sunday and my message was
the traditional one for Palm
Sunday. Jesus is making
his triumphant entry into
Jerusalem knowing that he
was facing the cross.
Sara Bush baked the
special unleavened bread that
was served. Larry England
and Barbara Nickoson served
the communion elements, and
Susie Hargett, accompanied
by Margie Hill, sang the
traditional hymn of Palm
Sunday, “The Holy City.”
Such a beautiful hymn and
such a beautiful rendition of
this sacred hymn. One could
feel the presence of the Holy
Spirit during the singing and
the partaking of the elements
of communion.
We heard that Jerol
Plummer was taken to St.
Elizabeth Hospital early
Sunday morning and the
preliminary news was that
she had a stroke.
Larry England, Jerol's
brother, is slated to have tests
on Monday morning.
Earl Bush is getting
better each day.
We will have our last
Lenten service this Wed.,
Apr. 4, in the Presbyterian
Church. What a wonderful
and precious time we
have had this past Lenten
season with the services
in the churches. This past
Wednesday we were guests
in the St. Augustine Church.
The food was furnished by
the Parkview Restaurant and,
as usual, they served a fine
meal. Appreciation to Phil
& Jenny.
We will continue with
our bread basket meal on
Wed., Apr. 11. Come and
enjoy food and fellowship
with us.
OAKLAND CHRISTIAN
by Barbara Browning
It’s always good to be
in the Lord’s house. The
message of the hour was
“Why Have You Forsaken
Me?” Just remember—
without the tragedy of the
cross, without the forsaking
Jesus felt, there would be no
resurrection!
Choir practice is April 4,
7 p.m.
Good Friday service
is 6:30 p.m. with the choir
presenting their cantata, “In
Christ Alone.”
An
“Eggstravaganza”
will be at the farm of Jim and
Sherry Fields, April 7, 1 p.m.
This is for kids and adults
too!
Combined
Sunrise
Service with the Neave folk
here at Oakland is 6:30 a.m.
with breakfast following.
Sunday School will be at 9
a.m. and one worship service
is at 10 a.m.
(Evening
worship will be dismissed.)
A Gideon guest speaker
will be with us on April 15.
An open-Bible offering will
be received.
We
are
anxiously
anticipating a great evening,
April 26, 7 p.m. with the
Punches family in concert.
They are great! Come spend
an evening with us and I
guarantee you will enjoy
their music. The parents
and all four children play an
instrument and boy, can they
sing!
Our sympathy goes
to loved ones of Charles
McAtee, Roy Carpenter,
Charlotte Baker, and Ruby
McClanahan. Other prayer
concerns include Jeanine
Cox (St. E East rehab),
Michelle Caldwell, Joyce
Cummins (broken wrist),
Charlie Tarvin, Billy Wilson,
Patty Ann Moorhead, Dan
Brewer, Judge Earl Bush,
Ken Smallwood, Shawna
McKenney, JoEllen Kearns,
Eudell Hall, Ronnie King,
Ronnie
Honan,
cancer
concerns,
shut-ins,
our
leaders, our armed forces,
and the many unspoken
prayer requests.
(Find yourself in church
Sunday morning – Christ
arose –that’s a good reason
to worship!).

Hello & God's Blessings

right manner.

the Dead". This lesson will

begins @ 10:30 a.m. when
we come together to thank
Jesus for the very precious
gift, that He has given to each
of us...salvation. We will not

May we all come to
realize that Jesus volunteered
for the ransom He paid, no
one forced Him to do it. He
did it just because He Loves
you. We wish everyone a very
Blessed & Happy Easter.

Special Thank Yous!
2nd 12 Mile Baptist Church wants to say a special THANKS to all
who volunteered during the weeks that we provided clothes, meals
and supplies for the tornado victims. Whether you prepared or served food, sorted
clothes or supplies, delivered lunches to those who worked with cleaning up, worked
to help in the rebuilding of homes or donated hours of your time volunteering wherever
needed, you were appreciated.
Our church could not have provided for the needs of our community during this
disaster had it not been for our surrounding neighbors, friends and church families.
Every time that we thought we didn’t have enough food to serve or workers to work ..
GOD PROVIDED!
We would also like to thank all the businesses that donated equipment and materials
to help in the rebuilding of our community. Thank you to everyone who made monetary
donations to our church. We are working on getting all of the donations out to the
tornado victims in our community.
May God richly bless you for all that you have done for our community and for your
kindness to those affected by this tornado.
